To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. The Information We Collect

Registration

In order to use RECMOS services a personal account has to be registered. You are required to provide your full name, an email address and a password. This information is used by RECMOS to authenticate you, maintain your account and contact you. An optional ZIP or City/State information can be provided as well, which is used as your default search location.

Friend invites

When you invite your friends to connect, you are requested to provide their names and emails. This information is used for the purpose of sending connection invite messages only.

Comments, ratings, recommendations

As part of the core RECMOS service, you can share your comments, feedback, ratings and recommendations about various services and businesses. This information is meant to be shared and by itself is not considered personally-identifiable. It is automatically shared with your connected friends. It is also accessible by the rest of RECMOS users, including business and service owners in an aggregate form (without your name, email or other personally identifying information).

Session data

Like many other websites, RECMOS uses session data to authenticate you as the person signed in to your account. Session data is a temporary file that is stored by your browser on your computer and is deleted when you close your browser. For your protection, all sensitive data stored in this file is encrypted with industry-level standards.

Log files

Log file data is collected by RECMOS to track site usage. This data is provided by your browser to any website you visit and includes your IP (internet protocol) address, your browser and OS (operating system) versions, the previous web page you visited, your ISP (internet service provider) and other technical information. This information is used to improve the service provided by RECMOS. You IP address is never shared in conjunction with your name or other personally identifiable information without your permission, except where required by law.

The way we use your personal information

RECMOS service is built around the idea of sharing business and service recommendations and opinions. Your name is accessible to your friends and is sent along with your friend invites, as well as displayed for your friends in conjunction with your comments, searches, recommendations, ratings and other feedback. Likewise, you can see your friends' activity and feedback on RECMOS. Beyond your connected list of friends your feedback, ratings, recommendations and other feedback is shared in an aggregate form only, without your name or any other personally identifiable information.

Use patterns

RECMOS may collect use patterns data that does not personally identify you as an individual. This data is owed exclusively by RECMOS and can be used at its own sole discretion in a way it deems appropriate.

RECMOS communications

As part of providing the service, RECMOS may contact you through email, homepage notices or other means. Please note that while the frequency of update emails can be set on the settings page, there are certain communications that cannot be turned off. These messages are a necessary component for a proper functioning of the service. For example - password reset messages, friend connect invites, policy updates and other messages. If you are receiving these messages or accessing the RECMOS service through a mobile carrier, or by other subscription means, you will be responsible for any fees associated with any such access.

Feedback, ratings, comments

Your comments, ratings, recommendations and other feedback and opinions about businesses and services are considered public information intended for sharing, and it is what defines the core of the RECMOS service. All this information provided by you is available beyond your connected friends in an aggregate form only, without your name, email or other personally identifiable information. RECMOS reserves the right to use such content for advertising purposes. RECMOS is not responsible for any personally identifiable information you may choose to include in these messages.

Communications outside RECMOS

RECMOS provides a venue for users to submit contact information for other people, businesses and services. You may choose to contact these other users, businesses or services outside RECMOS. Please be aware that by doing so you will expose your contact information to the other party. RECMOS is not responsible for their policies or actions, including for any contact information to be accurate.

Third parties

We never sell or make available personally identifiable information to third parties for marketing purposes. We may share your personally identifiable information to third parties only as a part of carrying out the services to you, per your instructions. For example, we employ an external payment processing company. These third party companies do not store or share your personally identifiable information except to provide these services and are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.

RECMOS may team up with other organizations in order to provide you with improved services, or for any other reasons we deem appropriate, including, without limitation, prospective advertisers. We may disclose aggregate anonymous data about the usage patterns, including ratings, recommendation and comment feedback.

Legal disclaimer

We may be required by law to disclose your personal information. We will disclose such information wherein we have a good-faith belief that it is necessary to comply with a court order, ongoing judicial proceeding, or other legal process served on our company or to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.

We may also disclose your personal and other information you provide, to another third party as part of reorganization or a sale of the assets of a RECMOS division or company and only after taking steps to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected. Any third party to which we transfer or sell RECMOS assets will have the right to continue to use the personal and other information that you provide to us.

Our Commitment to Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, access to your account is password-protected. We perform regular audits to ensure any potential vulnerabilities and attacks are promptly detected and addressed. It is your responsibility to protect the security of your sign in information.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13. In addition, according to our Terms of Service no one under 18 is allowed to open an account.

Accessing and Changing Your Account Information

You can access and modify at any time your name, contact email, default search location and other settings, including the frequency of the update messages, by signing in to your account and going to your Settings page. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

You can also close your RECMOS account. In this case we will remove your name and other personally identifiable information from the publicly available data. We may retain certain data contributed by you if it may be necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, or for legitimate business purposes, such as analysis of aggregated, non-personally-identifiable data, account recovery, or if required by law. All retained data will continue to be subject to the terms of the RECMOS Privacy Policy in effect at the time of your request. To request that we close your account and remove your information from the RECMOS service, please send your request to accounts@recmos.com. Please send your request using an email account that you have registered with RECMOS under your name. You will receive a response to requests sent to accounts@recmos.com within three business days of our receiving it.
